RAINBOW BUTTERFLIES CARD 7

Card 7 using the new Rainbow Butterflies Digikit.

You will need a graphics programme such as CAP2 or MCS to make this card.
CAP2 is used here.

This card uses Rainbow Butterflies set 2.

 

1:  Create a pink background square in your graphics programme approx. 13.5 cm x 13.5 cm.

2:  Create a deep red / pink square  and re-size and position it over the pink square. Group and put

     in side bar.

3:  Import the floral paper, re-size to approx. the same size as the other squares. Choose one of the frame

     punches (using CAP2) and punch the floral paper.

4:  Re-size and position this over the other squares,

5:  Import the butterfly, re-size to fit over the punched frame. Then remove.

6:  Print both the card design and the butterfly on to good quality card.

7:  Cut the butterfly out, cutting around the antennae.

8:  Glue the butterfly's body to the centre of the card.

9:  Add peel-off borders, gems and glitter if wished.

RAINBOW BUTTERFLIES CARD 6

Card 6 using the new Rainbow Butterflies Digikit.

 You will need a graphics programme such as CAP2 or MCS to make this card.

This card uses Rainbow Butterflies set 1.

 

1:   Create a cream coloured square  approx. 13 cm x 13 cm in your graphics programme.

2:   Import the embossed paper, re-size and position it over the cream square so there is a small border.

3:   Import the swirling butterflies paper, re-size and place over the embossed paper.

4:   Create a plain brown square and position this over the butterfly paper, leaving about a 1 cm border.

5:   Group the design together. Import and position the button in the centre of the brown square.

6:   Put to the side bar or save.

7:   Import the butterfly, re-size and copy, paste and rotate each by 60 degrees so there are 6.

8:   Arrange them as illustrated, group and then position them around the button.

8:   Print the arrangement on to good quality card. Then isolate the butterfly group from the card and print

      on to vellum. Print just the button on to card.

9:   Cut each butterfly out removing the antennae (too fiddly!).

10: Glue just the butterfly body over those on the card. When the glue is dry fold the wings upwards.

11: Emboss the button several times with Versamark ink and clear embossing powder and fix to the card

     with dssp so it is raised from the card.

RAINBOW BUTTERFLIES CARD 5

Card 6 using the new Rainbow Butterflies Digikit.

You will need a graphics programme such as CAP2 or MCS to make this card.

This card uses Rainbow Butterflies set 3

 

1:   Import the floral paper into your graphics programme, re-size it to approx.13 cm x 13 cm. Put it to the

      side bar or save.

2:   Import the radial design paper and re-size it to approx. 12.5cm x 12.5 cm. Create a white square and

      punch a circle from it. Re-size and position it in the centre of the radial paper.

3:   Import the butterfly, re-size and position at a 45 degree angle and position in the corner of the design.

     Copy and reverse the image until each corner has a butterfly.

4:  Import the butterfly again, re-size and position in the centre of the white circle.

5:  Remove and save the large butterfly and print the rest of the design on to good quality card.

6:  Print the butterfly on to card also.

7:  Cut the butterfly out, removing the antennae. Use silicone glue to fix the butterfly's body to the card,

     inserting two artificial flower stamens for antennae.

8:   Embellish with glitter. 

RAINBOW BUTTERFLIES CARD 4

The fourth card using the new Rainbow Butterflies Digikit

You will need a graphics programme such as CAP2 or MCS to make this card.

This card uses Rainbow butterflies set 4

1:   Create a black square in your graphics programme approx. 13 cm x 13 cm.

2:   Import the textured paper, re-size and position it over the black square leaving a small border.

3:   Group and save to the side bar (if using CAP2).

4:   Import the swirl paper and punch a circle from the centre...approx. 8.5 cm diameter.

5:   Create another black square and punch a circle from this. Position the swirl circle over the black, re-

      sizing so there is a small border.

6:   Import and re-size the button and copy so there are 4. Position these in the corners of the card.

7:   Import the butterfly, re-size and position in the centre of the swirl circle.

8:   Remove the butterfly and then print both card and butterfly on to good quality card.

9:   Cut the butterfly out, removing the antennae.

10: Use a Versmark pen and a glittery embossing powder on the buttons and the butterfly.

11: Glue the body of the butterfly to the centre of the card, adding some artificial flower stamens for the

      antennae.

12: Glue black gemstones or pearls around the circle border if wished.

RAINBOW BUTTERFLY CARD 3

Sample card 3 using the new Rainbow Butterflies Digikit.

You will need a graphics programme such as CAP2 or MCS.

This card uses Rainbow Butterflies set 2.

1:   Create a dark grey square approx. 12 cm x 12 cm in your graphics programme.

2:   Import the embossed paper, re-size and position over the grey square leaving a small border.

3:   Import the textured paper and crop either side of the centre to make a strip / border. Copy and reverse 

      the border and place both strips as illustrated.

4:   Create a white strip in your programme and place between the textured borders.

5:   Import the butterfly, re-size and angle to approx 20 degrees. Copy and reverse the image so there are

      5 butterflies. Position them along the white strip as illustrated.

6:   'Deconstruct' and copy the group of 5 butterflies.

7:   Print the card on to good quality card.

8:   Print the 5 butterflies on to vellum. Cut around the antennae.

9:   Cut the butterflies out and glue just the body section over those on the card.

10: Add border peel-offs if wished.

 

RAINBOW BUTTERFLY CARD 2

The second of cards made using the new Rainbow Butterflies Digikit.

You will need a graphics programme such as CAP2 or MCS to create this card.

 

This uses Rainbow Butterflies Set 1.

1:    Create a dark green square in your graphics programme approx. 13.5 cm x 13.5 cm.

2:    Import the butterfly swirls paper, re-size and position it over the green square.

3:   Create a dark brown square, import the floral paper, re-size and position it over the brown square and

      position as illustrated.

4:   Import the button, re-size and copy twice and position as illustrated.

5:   Import the butterfly, rotate by approx. 22 degrees and position in the floral square.

6.   'Deconstruct' the card and copy the butterfly.

7.   Print both on to good quality card.

8:   Use a border peel- off to highlight the brown square.

9:   Apply glitter to the butterfly and the buttons.

10: Cut the butterfly out, removing the antennae (these are already on the card).

11: Glue the body of the butterfly to the card.

Just right click and save...you may have to 'cut' the butterfly out...although it is a png it may show as a jpg.

RAINBOW BUTTERFLY CARD 1

The first sample card uses images and papers from Rainbow Butterflies Set 3.

You will need a graphics programme such as CAP2 or MCS to make this card (sample made in CAP2).

1:   Create a plain black square approx. 26 cm x 26 cm.

2:   Import the embossed paper from the kit and position over the black background. Group and save (or

      send to the embellishments side bar if using CAP2).

3:   Create another black square and punch a heart from it. Punch a heart from a white square as well.

4:   Import the patterned paper from the kit and punch a heart. Position it over the white square and alter 

      the transparency until it's quite pale and group together. Position over the black heart changing the

     size so the patterned heart has a small black border.

5:   Import the button, re-size, copy and position as in the photo.

6:   Import the butterfly, re-size and position in the centre of the heart, group..

7:   Re-size the whole design to approx. 15 cm x 15 cm (6").

8:   Ungroup, copy the butterfly and then group again. Save the butterfly in the side bar.

9:   Print the heart card on to good quality white card.

10: Print the separate butterfly on to vellum.

11: Cut the butterfly out, including the antennae. When printing the butterflies on to vellum or acetate there is

      no need to cut off the antennae as they are virtually transparent.

12: Glue the butterfly on to the centre of the heart...gluing just the body so the wings can fold up.

13: On this card I have applied Glossy Accents to the buttons to give them extra shine.

If you wanted to print the butterfly on the card you could use the Decoupage feature in CAP2 to give some

dimension. 

You could also add drop shadows to the butterfly.
